My Story

I was bought my first train set when I was six years old. I remember it well as a 0-4-0 red tank engine with a selection of wagons and an oval of track which I laid out on the carpet. The addiction started here with many wishes for various models often being viewed in Eames Models down the road from Reading station - my closest model shop at the time.

In 1985 my father purchased a large plywood sheet which enabled us to fix the track to a semi-permanent position, often using staples as a primitive securing method.

It was in 1988 that my first loft-based layout was built with my father quietly assembling boards and cross beams to have a circuit around the space. To me at the time it seemed a big step up in size and the 'den' opportunity was seized on straight away.

Fast forward through the years and my train set developed into a model railway. From the humble plywood board on the floor I am now very fortunate to have a four-track 11 x 3m circuit located in my family's home in eastern Slovakia. Sadly I only get to spend holidays with it nowadays but I do hope to start a new one in my current home in Braintree soon.

In the meantime I enjoy building my collection and have ventured into a selling on a certain online auction site using my 'nemo9295' user handle.

Now I have decided to take the plunge and establish my own online store giving me greater freedom in selling and promoting my model railway hobby. You will also see my unique replica miniaturised carriage window labels for sale which I have carefully recreated from my own collection built up in the 1980s.

I hope you find something that fits within your railway and thanks for visiting!
